The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrest:
— Kenneth Gerald Walton, III, 22, of 115 215 Loop, Union, was charged with trespassing after notice and malicious damage around 12:30 p.m. Aug. 22. According to the incident report, Walton stated he pulled gutters down from a house “because he was tired of looking at it.” The responding officer noticed the property was posted with no trespass signs. Walton was transported to Union County Jail.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Woodside Drive, Union, reported on Aug. 22 that she received a harassing text message from a number she didn’t recognize. The message included a picture of a man’s genitalia. The victim attempted to text the number back to find out who sent the message, but she was unable to find out who it was.
— A resident of Flat Drive, Buffalo, reported on Aug. 22 that while he was walking across an empty lot near his residence, someone pulled up in a large, white 80s model car and said he had something for the complainant and his grandson. The driver — described as a heavy set male — held up something shiny, and the complainant then ran into the house thinking the driver had presented a firearm. The subject then sped off down Flat Drive toward Haywood Street.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Paul Antonio Martin, 45, of 406 Porter St., Union, was charged with criminal domestic violence and disorderly conduct around 3:07 a.m. Aug. 23. According to the arrest warrant, Martin engaged in a physical altercation with a woman while at his residence, causing her to seek medical attention at Wallace Thomson Hospital Emergency Room.
— James Michael Jeter, 29, of 418 Peach Orchard Road, Union, was charged with criminal domestic violence around 6:45 p.m. Aug. 22. According to the arrest warrant, Jeter grabbed a woman by her hair and caused a cut above her left eye while at an address on South Church Street, Union.
— James Michael Turner, Jr., 49, of 269 Rice Avenue Extension, Union, was charged with possession of a Schedule IV narcotic around 5:40 p.m. Aug. 22.
— Benjamin Franklin Mitchell, 64, of 683 Rice Avenue Extension, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 4:30 p.m. Aug. 22.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:
— An employee of Enmark, located at 303 Thompson Boulevard, Union, reported on Aug. 22 that someone shoplifted a pack of cigarettes after their debit card was declined. According to the incident report, the customer picked up the pack of cigarettes and went to an ATM machine in the store, attempting to get the card to work. When another customer entered the store, the man took the cigarettes, ran out the door, and got into the passenger side of a white vehicle. The cigarettes were valued at $6. Video surveillance and a report were sent to investigations.
